Why Platform Engineering Is Having Its Moment

DevOps promised developers ownership of the full lifecycle. What it often delivered instead was cognitive overload — every team now needs to be experts in Kubernetes, Terraform, observability, security scanning, cost management, and a dozen other domains just to ship a feature.

Platform Engineering is the structured response to that overload.
